Understanding Our Authority In Christ

DAY 3 OF 5

It’s Not God’s Job; It’s Ours

You will notice that there’s not a single time in the New Testament that the Church is told to pray that God would do anything against the devil. The believer is told to do something about the devil, because we have the authority to do it!

Galatians 5:1 says that “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free!” So, when Jesus chose to face death on the cross and was resurrected, He purchased our choice to serve Him and spend eternity with Him, but He also purchased our choice to stand in our authority and experience freedom here on Earth!

His death was NOT just about our eternity – it was ALSO about our FREEDOM here on Earth! There are so many believers in the church today that don’t know their authority and don’t know what they COULD do, so they stand by, allowing the devil to keep on doing whatever he wants to do in their lives. That is why there are so many Christians walking around in chains!

It is not the heart of Jesus for any of us to walk in bondage! He has purchased our authority, and it is our job to put it to work!

Thank Jesus for ALL that His death on the cross afforded you – eternity, but also the authority that positions you for freedom! Ask the Lord: “Jesus, how well am I standing in my authority? Are there any changes You would like for me to make?”
