God Sees Me!نموونە
One day, we will see God
“When He [=God] appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.” (1 John 3:2)
God knows us through and through. He sees our outward appearance as well as our heart. We don’t know Him like that. The Lord God is invisible to us. Moreover, He is so great that we cannot possibly comprehend and understand Him.
Yet we can know Him because Jesus Christ revealed Him to us. He has shown God's love on earth. Moreover, God makes Himself known to us in His Word, and if we have a personal relationship with Him, we also get to know Him better and better that way. So it is certainly possible to know the Lord God, but only “in part” (1 Corinthians 13:12).
One day this will change. Then we’ll see God as He is! John even says we will “be like Him,” meaning we will share in His glory. What an incredible prospect!
The moment we will see God marks the completion of our sanctification. That process begins when we are born again. Step by step, the Holy Spirit changes our thinking and behavior so that we become like Jesus. We grow in knowledge of God and in holiness. But only after we die will we be perfect. Then we will finally meet our Savior face to face!
Do you long for that?
