30DaysOfBibleLettering - Round 4 نموونە
I am the Good Shepherd; the Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
John 10:11 NASB
In John 10, Jesus calls Himself the "Good Shepherd." He also teaches us that there are other "false shepherds" in the world. Shepherds who flee when danger enters because they are not truly concerned about the sheep. As I read these words, I cannot help but think of all the "false shepherds" in the world that I am following after. Approval. Success. Beauty. Comfort. The list goes on and on. These counterfeit shepherds that only leave me more broken and insecure, because the thief is using them to kill, steal, and destroy me. But in contrast, we can look to Jesus. Jesus, the Good Shepherd. Who has come to give us life and give it ABUNDANTLY. The Shepherd who delivers His flock. Who leads them to rest, binds up the broken, brings back the scattered, and strengthens the sick. A Shepherd who loves me enough to lay down His life. Who lays it down on His own initiative. Now, THIS is the Shepherd I want to follow. Following my Good Shepherd brings joy, satisfaction, true contentment, and LIFE. Today, won't you commit to following after the Good Shepherd, forsaking the counterfeits that this world has to offer?
