30DaysOfBibleLettering - Round 4 نموونە
All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:5-7 NIV
I was always the artistic kid growing up. While this didn't come with the immediate popularity the sports star or party kid found, it did come with its own set of praises and ego boosts. Through my school days, mostly college, I would definitely say I found myself in a very comfortable position of being the "talented" one, the "cool guy with the clothing brand." You get the picture. I put a lot of time into my Instagram feed and looking for opportunities to tell people about it. Let's just say while being gifted with talent is an amazing thing which I am so thankful for, it can definitely make its way to your head. I had never really been taught a lesson on humility before; everything just always came so naturally to me.
Well, I've been out of school now for almost a year, and I'm still trying to land that job. I'm still trying to find some stability. Maybe this life isn't always gonna throw handouts your way, huh? There have been some extremely positive changes in my life the past couple years. I've been able to realize that just because someone isn't just like me, or like the things I like, doesn't mean they aren't worthy of my time or my love. I've seen the beauty in not receiving recognition. I've seen the importance of a little humility.
1 Peter 5:5-7 speaks just to this. Peter urges us to "clothe ourselves in humility," and only then will we receive his favor. There are times and places to be proud in what you have accomplished, absolutely! But this should never be the foundation of our work. Go forth with a humble spirit, and I promise you will see God's favor all around.
