DAY 7 OF 20

Rahab was a prostitute who lived in the town of Jericho. When Joshua and the Israelite army entered the Promised Land, Jericho was one of the first cities that needed to be conquered. So, Joshua sent two spies to scope it out. After the spies came to her town, Rahab hid them in her home and covered for them when they left. She took a tremendous risk to side with the spies; it would cost her everything. But she took that risk believing God would win. She’d heard about Him and wanted to be a part of His people. And she chose right! When the Israelites conquered Jericho, they spared Rahab and her family. She was welcomed into God’s people. God honored her loyalty. God saw her desire to be a part of His community and welcomed her in.

The same is true for us. Sure, we may not be taking as big of a risk as Rahab did, but when we choose to follow God, we can do so with the assurance that He will always welcome us in. God sees us, loves us, and wants us to be a part of His community. So today, offer a prayer of gratitude for the gift that is being welcomed into God’s Kingdom when we choose to follow Him with our lives.

About this Plan

Storyteller

Stories teach us life lessons that stick with us well after the last page is turned. That may be why Jesus often told stories to convey a big idea or truth. He knew stories would connect with our hearts. We’ll dive into a few of those stories (parables) together. As we study, we’ll discover the power of those stories and how they can apply to our lives, as well as the power of Jesus as a teacher and a storyteller.
