Who Am I

DAY 8 OF 20

Here, Peter had spent the entire night fishing. The result? He caught absolutely nothing. It had been a miserable, discouraging night hauling net after net out of the water only to find them empty. That is until Jesus stepped onto Peter’s boat, giving what appeared to be ludicrous advice to a seasoned fisherman. Peter, tired and exhausted from his efforts, reluctantly obeyed out of honor to Jesus. And the One who rules the seas caused Peter’s nets to be so full they almost burst and nearly sunk both his and his partners’ boats. Peter’s response to the bounty was beautiful: He hit his knees. He realized Who he was in the presence of, and he left his nets to begin the great adventure with Jesus. We too are on the greatest adventure with the One who rules the seas, the skies, and every inch of everything. When we experience something incredible in our lives, we don’t need to look for the Author. It’s no mystery who is adding the adventure. The verse that pops off the page? Him. The perfectly timed song on the radio? Him. The painted sunset that stops your heart? Him. The answered prayer that comes just in time? Him.

When you are on a journey with the King of all, life becomes a great adventure.

About this Plan

Who Am I

How would you define what makes up your identity? Maybe you define who you are by what you do or how you perform. While all of those things may be pieces of who you are, those definitions can change. Let’s take those questions about our identity to God to see what He has to say. As we do, we’ll discover that God wants us to find our identity rooted in the firm foundation of truth—rooted in who He says we are.
