Just Don't Give Up! - Part 5: My Battle, His Battleنموونە
Be Still
“The Lord will fight for you while you [only need to] keep silent (be still) and remain calm” – Exodus 14:14
Throughout the Old Testament, God fought for the people of Israel in battles, and no enemies stood against Him. The Red Sea miracle was one of the most significant victories in the Israelites' 40-year journey in the wilderness. This epic moment took place in a desperate and helpless moment. Standing between the sea of water and the sea of the Egyptian army, all they could see was death before them.
Moses was clueless, but at the same time sustained his faith in the Lord. When no one could give a way out, God could, and His promise was: "Be still. I will fight for you."
God split the waters. He put fire between Pharaoh and His people. He gave time for all of the Israelites to cross the sea, including the elders, the pregnant women, and the little children. None were left behind.
One of the blessings in disguise during my treatment was I could spend more time with my daughters. I cherished the chance to know them better. Occasionally, when I was playing with them, anxiety came back to me. I was afraid of leaving them too early. I wanted to see them as grown-ups and be there with them. As I struggled with fear, I could sense the little voice speaking in my heart, “Be still. Remain calm. I am the One who will fight for your life.” I learned to believe that God would never leave me defeated. Constantly battling between belief and unbelief, I decided to let go of my fear and let His peace fill my heart. I decided to claim His promise over my life. I decided to proclaim healing and life.
My friend, are you standing in a situation where it feels like there is no way out? Whether it be your family, studies, job, finances, or health, God can work through the impossible. God is speaking to you right now: "Be still. Remain calm. I will fight for you." There is nothing too big for God. He is our Jehovah Mepalthi, our Deliverer.
Every time you are faced with the impossible, claim His promises. Have faith that He is fighting for you because He is. As He had fought for me, He will fight for you too. He will never leave us behind and defeated!
Be still and know that I am your God.
