Living Out Scripture in Your Marriageنموونە
You Better Do It!
We recently built a home and watched the whole process unfold. One of the first things done was the laying of the foundation. Had we seen the builders just throwing up framing directly on the Carolina clay we live in, we would have put an immediate stop to it. Why? Because there’s no way that house would stand. The first rain we got would have us slipping down the hill into the backyard. Fortunately, we had good builders who knew that a solid house needs a solid foundation.
God is also a good builder, and he wants your marriage built to last. One of the best ways to accomplish that is to read his Word and do what it says. It would be pointless if our builders read about building a solid foundation but never actually did it. In Luke 6:46-48, Jesus says the same thing. He states there’s no point in reading the Word and not doing what it says. He is either going to be the Lord of your life or not.
The last thing you want to bring into your marriage is deception, and when you attend church on Sundays and pick up your Bible to check a box but never actually apply what it says, you are deceiving yourself. As a husband or wife, God says to be doers of the Word, not just mere hearers. There is no point in learning things you have no intention of applying. Doing so is just setting your life up to crumble.
If you want your married life to be blessed and a strong foundation that can withstand anything, then you must put God’s Word into action. It is not just to be read and stored away but to apply to everyday life.
As you move forward in your marriage, remember that applying all of the scripture in it is the real win. Let God transform your mind, heart, and marriage one biblical truth at a time.
Take Action:
What verse will you take and start to apply in your life today? Can you think of any that you have just kept hidden in your heart that needs to come alive?
If you’ve gone through this plan alone, invite your spouse to go through it with you for a second time. Become a couple that grows in the Word individually and together.

About this Plan
Have you ever been told how hard marriage is? The truth is, marriage itself isn’t hard; it’s the people in it that make it difficult. Many marriages get off track when couples start going through it their way instead of God’s. This seven-day plan will help you learn what marriage God’s way is and give you the truths of scripture to apply today.
