Done Holding On 

This might be taking you too far back in your brain, but do you ever remember having a teddy bear or a special blanket when you were younger? Remember the feeling of comfort that it gave you? Maybe as you got older that teddy bear turned into a hat, or a car, even a relationship, or a smartphone that was glued to your hand. Now, do you remember having to let it go?  Perhaps you still haven’t… Welcome to Done Holding On.

If you’re in a place where you are holding on to something, a sin, a thought, a person, a belief, something that you know God wants you to let go of, today is the day to stop holding on. As the author of Hebrews in chapter 12, verse 1 says, “…throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles…” Running the race God has laid out can be hard sometimes, but it’s much harder with a thousand pound backpack on.
