For King & Country - Crave

DAY 5 OF 7

Love’s To Blame

This was a tough tune to write. I remember a moment in my life when I lost someone close to me, I didn’t eat, didn’t sleep. I physically got on my knees and asked God to ‘fix this’ and bring us back together. He didn’t, and in hindsight I see He knew better than me.

I reckon if we take a reasonable look at life there is always an opportunity to count our many blessings. For some of us [including me], one of those “blessings” was found in a romantic relationship. And speaking for myself, I thought [and hoped] it would last a lifetime, that we’d get hitched and rule the world together, but that’s not the way it panned out.

In the book of Job, chapter 1 we see a man that was looking to God, living a righteous and outstanding life. The Enemy decided to test one of the Lord’s most faithful, so God offered this man, Job. After losing almost everything [his house, children, livelihood], Job said one of the most profound statements recorded in the Bible, “…The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the lord.”

People say, God is more interested in your character than your circumstances. I tend to agree. So if you’ve lost someone or something near and dear to you, turn your head to the sky, thank God for His kindness in the midst of it and know that he’ll turn it around, as He did me.
