There’s no denying that we’re all sinners. There’s currently no human in this world who is perfect. We may all have the best of intentions, but due to our humanity, there will always come a point where we make a mistake. Where we’ve made the wrong decision. When we’ve made the wrong choice. And when this inevitably happens, often these mistakes come with consequences, and the end result we’ve earned due to our own poor decision-making. Consequences are just a natural part of life.
Before Jesus, the consequence of sin was eternal separation from God. It was an end to our story. It was the price we had to pay for the things we’ve said and done in our lives - a price we couldn’t pay on our own. Instead, Jesus stepped in to pay the cost for all of humanity. The only human who has ever been perfect took on every sin and shame. Because of Jesus, we’re now able to stand blameless before God, ready to spend eternity with Him. And all He asks in return is for us to spend our lives loving and following Him. How does it feel to know that God has paid that cost for you? What is something you can do this week to show your appreciation for His sacrifice?

A small shift can be enough to change your perspective. When we shift our perspective, we allow ourselves to see something in a whole new light. Many of us have a picture of what we want and expect Jesus Christ to be, but if we allow ourselves to shift our perspective, we can see a God who is so much more than we think.
