Hate Your Job? Do These 4 Thingsنموونە
Actively Try New Things
The boy with five loaves and two fish probably couldn’t have imagined what Jesus could do with them. But he took what he had and let Jesus do His thing.
It was during this season in my life that I decided to start a blog. It was mostly just something to take my mind off my trials. I had no idea what could come of it, but I started blogging anyway. And a couple years later I found myself making a full-time living from that blog. Had I not been putting some action to my faith by starting a blog, I would probably still be in a job that I hated.
I don’t know what being active means for you. Maybe it’s starting a business on the side; maybe it’s studying to prepare yourself for where you want to go with your career; maybe it’s taking classes to make yourself a more valuable asset to an employer. But whatever it is, continue to put action to your faith.
If you’re struggling to find your passion and feel trapped in life, remember that God wants to be involved. Looking back, I see His hand in my situation and His glory on full display. If you let Him, He will be active in your story as well. He wants to work through your dark season and show you just how magnificent He is. But we must show up.
This isn’t easy. In fact, it’s incredibly difficult just to keep showing up. But it’s one of the most important decisions you can ever make. Be intentional in your first step on this incredible journey— believe God can do it.
I’ll leave you with a thought from author Jeff Goins: “Sometimes all it takes to make a difficult decision is an affirming voice telling you what you know to be true but still need to hear.”
Let me be that affirming voice for you today. God is bigger than your circumstances. Your life is far more significant than you realize. And He isn’t finished with you yet. Let’s go.
This has been an excerpt from my book Simple Money, Rich Life. I wrote it for Christians who are wanting to grow their income, find work they love, and truly master their money so they can use their increased income to advance God’s Kingdom. I’d love to give you the first couple chapters, a 5-week study guide, and more devotions… all for FREE. You can get it all here: seedtime.com/work
