Becoming Like a Childنموونە
God Himself became a child
“For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on His shoulders.
And He will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)
The triune God had an eternal plan of redemption. Even before the earth was created, He designed a way to reconcile sinful people to Himself because He loved them. He wanted them to be His children.
In order to make this possible, the “Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” became a little human baby. Think about that! God the Son, who was with God from the beginning, who was involved in the creation of the universe and whose voice sustains the stars and planets… laid aside His glory and was born on earth when the fullness of time had come. Not only did He become a human, He became a helpless child. He was dependent on the care of His human parents. He obeyed them, and as He grew up, He learned the things any child needs to learn, like talking and walking.
There is only one reason why God the Son would do this: because He loved this sinful world so much that He wanted to save it.
Thank you, Jesus, that You gave up your glory and became a child in order to save us and to give us the right to become children of God!

About this Plan
We tend to tell our children it’s time to grow up. Jesus tells adults it’s time to become like little children in order to enter His Kingdom. What does Jesus mean by this? What does it imply to be like a child, more specifically to be a child of God? Sign up for this reading plan to find out.
