Alpha & Omega

DAY 8 OF 14

Observe & Interpret

1. Read: Revelation 12.1-6. Summarize this passage in your own words.

2. How is this scene in Heaven different from John’s previous visions? What does the woman represent in this “sign” John sees? (See Genesis 37.9)

3. Read Revelation 12.7-12. Who does the dragon in this “sign” represent? How do the people of God overcome the dragon despite his attacks?

4. Read Revelation 12.13-17. How does God protect His people in this final scene? (See Matthew 24 & Mark 13 for Jesus’ teachings on this future period)

5. Revelation 12 highlights the tactics of our enemy along with the plan, power, and protection of our God. How do other passages in scripture teach us to resist spiritual attack and rely on God as our refuge?

Apply

1. What practical steps can we take this week to resist our enemy and rely on our God in the midst of spiritual warfare? See Ephesians 6.10-18 to remember the “armor of God” and its role in our defense.

2. Prayerfully determine the main biblical truth or principle that God revealed to you during your study. A few questions to ask are: Is there a promise for me to claim? Is there a truth for me to believe? Is there a command for me to obey?

3. Memorize:James 4.7-8a. "So submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you."

About this Plan

Alpha & Omega

The Revelation of Jesus Christ is a book about what will happen in the future; but perhaps more importantly, it’s a book about who controls the future. More than sixty years after Jesus rose from the dead, He appears once again to His disciple John to tell him about the things to come. John sees Jesus in a whole new way: He is now risen, glorified, and clearly in charge of the universe. Jesus is Lord of everyone, everywhere, forever. The question for you and me is whether we will trust Him with our lives, believing that He holds both the present and the future in His all-powerful and loving hands.
