Invite the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Revelation into this time. Without Him, these are just words on a screen. Man cannot reveal these things to you, but only the Spirit of the Lord.
Fasting + Movement
Fasting and movement may not be your typical ways of connecting with God, but He designed us to connect with Him in so many ways.
When fasting food, let the Lord be your energy source for all forms of movement. Movement can bring a focus to hear His voice, prepare you to read His word, and it can push you out of your comfort zone to encounter God in a new way. Don’t let any restrictions keep you from connecting with God the way you were created to! He wouldn’t have made you to connect with Him through movement if you were to remain still during a fast. Let your movement minister to the Lord and fill you up. He will sustain you! Spend time praying and moving today. Go on a prayer walk or run, dance in His presence, or simply wave your arms in worship to Him. Let your movement be a response to Him moving toward you. Reflect on times in scripture when God would tell His people to move and ask Him how He wants you to engage in movement today.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for my body and any ability to move in response to You. I honor You and worship You with my movement today. As I am making my flesh a sacrifice to You, I also command my flesh to move and worship You in movement. Speak to me as I move towards You today. Speak Lord, Your servant is listening. Amen.
About this Plan
Fasting is a spiritual discipline that calls us to deny the desires of our flesh and fill ourselves up with God, His Word, and His presence. Over the next 40 days, we will grow in intimacy with God, position ourselves to be in His perfect will, and learn about His dunamis power in our daily personal encounters.
