40 Days of Prayer & Fastingنموونە
Fasting Creates Power
2 Corinthians chapter 12 says, "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me." His grace is sufficient for us while we are fasting. Sufficient in the Greek means “to keep off, assist, I suffice: to be satisfied.” His grace in our fasting keeps off our flesh and He keeps us satisfied! The word “power” in this scripture is the Hebrew word “dynamis” or “dunamis” and it means miraculous power. The miraculous power of Christ abides with us when we fast. He fulfills and executes His miraculous power in our frailty. It’s how His dunamis power is fulfilled and accomplished. This is something to celebrate! If our weakness brings about His power, then just like Paul says in Corinthians, we can be glad about our weakness.
Prayer: God, thank You for Your grace that is sufficient for me to deny my flesh and magnify Your miraculous power. Thank You that You would use me as a vessel for Your power. Before I walk in any of Your power, I know my flesh first has to die and be submitted to You. So I set aside the desires of my flesh and ask for Your dunamis power to be activated.Thank You that I don’t have to be strong in my own power. My wisdom and strength are foolishness to You. As I hunger and deny my flesh, I declare that Your grace is sufficient for me. Only You satisfy me. Amen.

About this Plan
Fasting is a spiritual discipline that calls us to deny the desires of our flesh and fill ourselves up with God, His Word, and His presence. Over the next 40 days, we will grow in intimacy with God, position ourselves to be in His perfect will, and learn about His dunamis power in our daily personal encounters.
