Overwhelmed by My Blessings: Encouragement for Moms (Part 2)نموونە
Overwhelmed. That is a mom on any given day. And guess what? We are in great company!
Look at Mark 6:31-34
Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.
Jesus went through it too. He understands.
So they left by boat for a quiet place, where they could be alone. But many people recognized them and saw them leaving, and people from many towns ran ahead along the shore and got there ahead of them.
Sound familiar? Like your life on any given day? Jesus was overwhelmed too. He was human.
And He was God.
Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.
Even Jesus knew the need to get away. And we need that. Coffee with a friend once a week for 1 hour will do you wonders. A regular date time with your husband.
But the reality is that the crowd will be there when we get back. I think Jesus knew that and accepted it. How else would compassion rise in His heart?
Oh Jesus. I know you were human, like me, and you were able to overcome the stress and press of people by compassion. I pray that you will grow compassion in my heart, even right at this moment for my own “crowd.” The days are long, and people tell me the years are short though today it seems like I will be at this forever! May my strength come from the joy of living for you, even when all seems like a mess around me. May your compassion and example be mine, as I teach my children of your unfailing love.
Psalm 62:11 (The Message) God said this once and for all; how many times have I heard it repeated? "Strength comes straight from God."
