CHANGED! And Changing Still..نموونە
Change The Way You Touch
Key Thought
When God breathed His life into us at creation we became living beings. The body He gave us helps us to interact with others. God knew it wasn't good for us to be alone. Solitary confinement is one of the greatest punishments for humans, mainly because we live whilst having no contact with other people. The ability to touch another human is amazing. Sadly, we use touch in many inappropriate ways. People have been scared, damaged and destroyed through the touch of another human. But, if we learn to change the way we touch people, this could become the greatest of healing virtues.
Husbands and wives should engage in more touch. Parents and children should embrace a loving touch. All humans should learn to embrace God through faith.
The bible says we were made from dust and one day we will return to dust. From dust to dust. I guess the burning question is, what have you added between the dust? Between life and death, birth and burial. What are we trying to add between the dust that we think will add to how good we can be?
We arrive naked, with nothing. We will leave naked, with nothing.
As we end this devotion on change, my prayer is we would start a journey of RAWthenticity. That we would strip back all the things we have added that slow us down and hold us back. That we would run with great perseverance the race that has been marked out for us to run.
That we would be willing to change and become everything God has intended us to become because we are changed and changing still.
Time To Think
Slow down and let God speak to you... Consider these questions and make some notes.
Who do I enjoy being with the most?
How can I make sure that digital devices do not distract me from building meaningful relationships with others?
Prayer
Father, thank you for being present, even when I am absent. Thank you for making us in a way that means we need each other. Help me to cherish the friendships I have and serve all the people I come in contact with. Father, I want to strip away the things that hold me back. The things that slow me down. Help me live a life that pleases You. In Jesus name. Amen.
Next Steps
Make a conscious effort to be more affectionate today. Especially with your family. Break out of your comfort zone and give someone a hug that you wouldn’t normally hug!
About this Plan
When we surrender to Jesus He changes us in a moment but we are still being changed everyday to become more like Him. This devotion deals with the everyday, ordinary changes that we all face in becoming more Christ-like. We are changed and changing still.
