Going Deeper - Ephesiansنموونە
Another factor that marked our pre-Christ lives was the lack of hope because of our distance from God. It is because of Jesus’ death and the blood that He spilled for us that we have access to God. Access indicates a relationship. We now have the means to be in a close relationship with God himself, and this new-found relationship brings peace into our lives. It’s a peace that marks anyone who chooses Jesus as their saviour.
Our lives before Jesus resembled that of a tourist in a country. A tourist doesn’t have the rights and duties of a legitimate citizen of the country that they are visiting. They are practically strangers to the systems and benefits of said country. On the other hand, citizens have a host of benefits that they have rights to, just by virtue of their citizenship.
Today, each of us who are in Christ are citizens of His kingdom here on earth. This kingdom has Christ as the King and was established by the apostles and prophets ordained by God. We join this kingdom just by putting our faith in Jesus and inviting Him into our lives. This kingdom continues to advance and grow because of the Holy Spirit’s work in each of us, minute by minute, day by day if we allow Him. We have access to our royal inheritance promised to us by God since we are no longer foreigners but members of His family.
Have you given the Holy Spirit access to your life in order for you to be in closer communion with your Heavenly Father?
Are you living with a Kingdom mindset and perspective or an earthly one?
