Can't Wait for Christmas: A 3-Day Devotional With Cade Thompsonنموونە
GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN THAT JESUS CHRIST IS BORN
The Christmas season brings festive reminders of Jesus’ birth everywhere we turn. We have favorite carols and Christmas songs that play nonstop at our jobs and wherever we go. Those who don’t have a faith in Jesus even celebrate the westernized traditions surrounding the Christmas season. These festivities give us increased opportunities to talk about Jesus’ birth, which we know as ‘the ‘reason for the season.’
The lyrics in the classic Christmas song ‘Go Tell It On The Mountain’ are clearly a powerful reminder that the good news of Jesus Christ’s birth is valuable to all! Let’s also remember that we are not just celebrating the birth of Jesus but boldly proclaiming WHO Jesus is as the Son of God and our Savior.
What does that really mean to each one of us? The answer is wrapped up in your testimony...what did HE save you from or point you towards? How did HIS unconditional love hold you tight in the hard times? When did HIS peace come upon you in a dark season? These are the stories worth telling ‘on the mountain, over the hills, and everywhere.”
The birth of Jesus Christ is the start of each one of our testimonies. This Christmas, don’t just tell others about the birth of Christ but tell them how his birth changed your life and why you celebrate this season with indescribable joy. Be bold and remember that one word, one action, one moment of us proclaiming the gospel could change the course of someone else’s life forever.
The truth of the GOSPEL is the greatest gift of all... it is the gift that was meant for the whole wide world, and that is why we celebrate this Christmas and all year long.
REFLECTION
● Take time to work out and write out your testimony of how you were before you came to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior and what has been made new in you because of that decision.
● Look around you this Christmas season and notice those who need to know Jesus, not only as the baby in the manger but as their Savior. Make a promise to yourself each day not to miss it.
PRAYER
“Dear God, help me be aware of who in my life or in my path might need to know more about why I celebrate the birth of Jesus...because of who HE is as Savior of the world and what he did for me. Show me how to be bold and confident as I tell my testimony. Thank you for helping me take my eyes off of myself this Christmas.”

About this Plan
Christmas is simple...God became man...but are we so familiar with the story of Christ’s birth that we lose interest and keep doing what we always do during this Christmas season? Join me as we slow down, do less, and intentionally spread the great joy of the Gospel while we wait in anticipation of celebrating our Savior’s birth.
