Step 2: Dedication
Your vision is connected to others--that is how we build the Kingdom of God here on earth. Your vision doesn't just affect you. Make sure you are pursuing God's visions--not yours--.
To walk out his vision, you will need full-on dedication to the mission of God. How do you do that? Here are some practical things that might help:
Don't Believe the Lies
A very real enemy of your soul would like to stop you before you even start. He may try to make you busy, distract you, or make you feel like God's vision is too much for you. He may try to convince you with his lies that you are not good enough.
You'll never be able to do that!
Why would God pick you with your past?
You don't have enough experience or education or know the right people. You're too old, or you're too young!
Don't fall for the lies of the enemy!
Be Who You are Called to Be
Another place we may stumble is if we look at other peoples' visions and want to do theirs instead of ours. But as the body of Christ, we are each part of the body with a specific role to play. A hand can't hear; a foot can't see.
As it says in 1 Corinthians 12:19, If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
Seek His Way
There will be obstacles, hindrances, pressures, and troubles when you go for your vision. But if you are submitted to God and dedicated to his mission and vision, he will take care of the rest. It is his name on the line, not yours.
His word promises I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel. (Isaiah 45:2-3 NKJV)
His purpose for you is better than you can ever imagine! Dedicate yourself to him to get positioned for purpose.
Prayer: God, I believe you chose me and called me! I dedicate myself to your purpose. Please help me take all my thoughts captive so I don't believe the enemy's lies. I want to be the part of the body of Christ that you created me to be so I can fulfill your purpose. As I seek you, make my crooked paths straight, and don't let me stumble when I walk out what you have for me. In Jesus' name, amen.
