There Is Hope

DAY 35 OF 35

Put on All Your Armor: I Am an Ambassador in Chains Christians are taught to believe that God always takes care of his people. Does it bother you that believers seem to suffer so much? Is that a breakdown of God’s promise of protective armor in your life? Is it a sign that He’s losing his grip? Get this-Paul wrote his letter to the Ephesians from a Roman jail. “Pray also for me . . . so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains” (6:19,20). Here is yet another amazing example of how God operates-He turns even our disasters into blessings! Since Paul could no longer move about freely as a missionary, God used him to become a missionary to the prison community. Since Paul could no longer travel to the congregations he had founded, he had to train and use a crew of younger men as his messengers. These messengers then became the next generation of pastors, guaranteeing that the spread of the gospel and the growth of the church would not grind to a halt when Paul and the other apostles died. Isn’t it just like God to work it both ways? God will accomplish great things in your life, even through your suffering troubles!
