Peace: Family, Friends and Enemies

DAY 2 OF 5

Welcome to day two of creating peace with your family members, friends, and enemies during the holidays.

I want to start by giving you an affirmation you can say throughout your day. When you feel worried, anxious, fearful, or intimidated, simply repeat these words to yourself, or out loud.

I can choose peace, rather than this.

The #3 thing you must do to become an instrument of peace everywhere you go is to become the peace you seek from others.

Rather than expecting others to be peaceful to you (which may be rare), sow seeds of peace into their lives through your words, attitudes and behaviors.

The scriptures tell us in Matthew 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall inherit the earth.”

Another scripture to reinforce your ability to sow seeds of peace is found in Romans 12:18, “live peaceably with all.”

Can you begin to imagine what it would be like to become the peace you seek from others?
Can you see yourself becoming that peace?
Can you see yourself speaking to family members, friends, and even enemies in a peaceful manner?
What does that feel like?
Can you imagine how powerful you will feel as you sow seeds of peace?

Remember, when you are connected to the source (the creator) of all peace, you have all the peace you need.

Stay connected to the source, and you will have all the peace you need.

The #4 thing you must do to live and create a peaceful environment during the holidays with family members, friends, and enemies is to match up with what you are.

What do I mean by that?

These are some of the words the scriptures speak about you: creative, kind, loving, beautiful, always expanding, abundant, and receptive to all of life.

Before you arrive and spend time with any of your family members, friends, and enemies, reflect on these words of who you are. Remind yourself of the incredible creation from God that you are.

2 Corinthians 13:5 says, 'Test and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Examine yourselves [not me]! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you '

This passage reminds you to examine yourself. Take inventory of your attitudes and beliefs before and during all situations.

Do this so you can become the peace everyone is seeking. God is love, and love is peace. Therefore, you have all the peace inside you. You have more than enough peace for every moment, no matter how much animosity you may feel.

There is one last scripture I must include to bring peace in any situation.

1 John 4:7 says, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.”

When you reflect on these words about you (creative, kind, loving beautiful, always expanding, abundant, and receptive to life), what do you feel?

Can you see yourself as these words above?
Is there anything blocking you from believing these words about you?
What do you need to let go of so you can believe these words about you?
When will you begin meditating on these words (set a date and alarm)?

As you bring peace to every holiday moment and interaction, you are bringing God and his presence. You are a light in the world. You are making a difference.

I’m rooting for you.

I’m praying with you.

Let me know how this resonates with you.

God Bless,

Coach Anthony Thompson
