Broken People, Humble Priest

DAY 1 OF 5

We've been stewing in the ancient book of Leviticus recently, and it's been like a delicious meal of a reminder to me of God’s axing Holiness and equally His mercy and grace for anyone He has called to be in relationship with Him. Just like a meal, I’ve been pairing the stories of God and Israel in Leviticus with what I’ve learned from the books of 1 Peter and Hebrews in the New Testament. I couldn’t help but see lessons all over this ancient, often neglected book that show us modern learners the core truths about how God initiates and invites us, broken people, into a relationship back with Him and calls us to be his Humble, shining priests. Especially in light of the New Testament shining on all the cleansing rituals, I was in awe of how they point to our needed answer that would come in the Sacrifice and Savior Jesus Christ. So as I often do, I wrote them down for myself and wanted to share them with you. I hope they encourage you in Jesus Christ and ground you in God’s love for you or introduce you to God’s love for you for the first time.
