Infinitum Advent Make Room, Week 3نموونە
Jesus’ love and belonging are offered to everyone: no difference between Jew or Greek, slave or free, woman or man…Christ is all and is in all. Yet our world has definitions, borders, and differences that tempt us to believe there is such a thing as ‘other.’ There is beauty in our diversity and differences, but there is an underlying reality that we are ONE: humankind … God’s children … family. We live every day in the tension of those two realities.
There is joy, purpose and challenge for anyone who decides NOT to be defined by humankind’s borders, expectations or priorities.
That’s important enough to say again: there is joy, purpose and challenge for anyone who decides NOT to be defined by humankind’s borders, expectations or priorities. Let’s break that down:
Where is the joy in deciding not to define the world by society’s borders, expectations or priorities?
What are some of the borders, expectations or priorities of the world that you might be tempted to accept as God-ordained?
How would God give us purpose in the process of choosing not to be defined by humankind’s borders, expectations or priorities?
As we decide not to be defined by society’s borders, expectations and priorities, what would you ask of God to navigate the challenges associated with such a decision?
What borders, expectations or priorities come to mind this Advent season that you wish not to define you or this month?
