[Ruth] Remaining in the Covenant Relationshipنموونە
A Rapid Response (Part Two)
When we tell others of all the things God has done for us, that is evangelism. How do you make space for God to work in your life? When He is doing something in your life, and you recognize it, go and tell someone else! Share what Jesus has done for you.
We have seen Boaz's response. What was Ruth's response? She returned to Naomi. In obedience to the vow Ruth had given Naomi, she did not run away or stay where she was; she came back. She tells Naomi what God has done, what the goel told her. Ruth tells her that Boaz does not want to send her away empty-handed. She uses the exact words Naomi used in complaining about her life in chapter one.
Ruth's response was a response of obedience and faith. She walked in the way of the Word in approaching the kinsman redeemer; she stayed true to it all the way back to Naomi.
Naomi was confronted with the shame of acting the way of the world. She responds by making a change, recognizing the blessings she has been given: Ruth, the goel, and the Lord's provision in front of her.
She sees all the blessings left at her doorstep since she returned and becomes this incredible woman of faith! She has faith in the covenant and tells Ruth to rest. The redeemer is not at rest; he is the one who will do all the work now.
We can see parallels between what the goel does and what our Redeemer does. When we approach God with an attitude of humility and request redemption and protection, He comes to us. There is no question that Jesus wants to redeem us. He died to redeem us! He puts His wing over us, and we can rest assured that He, the Redeemer, will do all the work. Redemption is a gift of grace to us.
When we claim Christ as our Redeemer, the work of redemption is His.
How will I respond to Christ? Will it be a response like Boaz's, with kindness and overflowing loyal love to others? Will I respond like Ruth, out of obedience to who God is and what He says? Will I respond like Naomi, with an incredible faith in God as our Redeemer?

About this Plan
This third part of the Ruth series is about remaining in a covenant relationship with the Father. Instead of doing things according to God's Word, Naomi does them the way the world does them. Ruth obeys Naomi, yet her humble spirit is honored by the Lord. We will learn how to approach God by doing things the way of the Word.
