Faith Over Fear of the Future

DAY 7 OF 8

In a World of Bad News, BE THE GOOD NEWS

You are a key part of God’s plan to save the world.

When we read Jesus’s prophecies about the world of the end, it may feel like suffering, heartache, and tribulation are unstoppable. Yes, times are tough and getting tougher. And yes, the coming judgment is bad news for those who do not belong to Christ. But the good news is that we can belong to Christ—and that good news is unstoppable too.

Jesus predicted His followers would be unstoppable in taking His gospel to the world. He said, “Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!” (John 4:35). He said, “I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).

Not only will war, famine, pestilence, natural disasters, persecution, betrayal, and lawlessness reach every corner of the earth—the gospel will as well. God is opening wide the gate to salvation for every people of every tribe and nation on earth. The Lord has told us that He is not willing that any should perish but that all should have everlasting life. And the really incredible thing? We are His means of getting the message out. We are His plan.

We carry out God’s plan when we share our testimony, tell the story of Christ’s ministry, death, and resurrection, share the Scriptures with others, and bring people into the church and the family of God. All of us, whether highly educated in theological matters or newly converted, are called to take part.

People need the Lord. Our world has never needed Him more. Let’s be the good news!
