Stop Waiting for Permissionنموونە
The Pursuit of a Lifetime
Do you ever find yourself wondering, Is this all there is to life?
Let me tell you about a place where everything that makes you who you are is welcomed and celebrated, where your gifts, passion, and purpose collide to leave a mark beyond your wildest imagining. In this place, you experience fulfillment and satisfaction by using your unique personal genius—yes, it exists!—to bless your family, friends, community, and the world. I call this place greatness.
How do you find that place? Do you sit back and wait for an opportunity to fall in your lap? Or do you start knocking on (or kicking in) doors?
You don’t have to wait for permission when it comes to greatness. Why would you stand around day after day in the proverbial waiting room when God has already had greatness planned and purposed for you?
My heart breaks when I meet extraordinarily gifted people who have been beaten down by life for so long that they’re afraid even to imagine a new season in a place of greatness. They are survivors—of childhood trauma, a health crisis, an abusive relationship, or the loss of a loved one or business—who haven’t yet healed from the emotional, mental, and spiritual damage.
Wounds from past trauma are real, but they don’t have to define us. God did not send His only Son to die on the cross for our mere survival. Jesus did not lay aside His glory in heaven for life with us so that we could barely squeak through our trials. No! He died for our complete redemption and was raised for our full restoration. He sacrificed His life so that we can share in His glory and spend eternity with Him. John 10:10 says, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” A full life, a fulfilled life, is God’s purpose for you on earth.
There is the glory from God in you, just waiting to be uncovered. It is the pursuit of a lifetime to discover all the greatness He intends for you, which is why your greatest days still lie ahead, regardless of your age or level of success.
Stop waiting for permission.
What does it mean to have abundant life? Do feel you are living an abundant life today? Why or why not?
