5 Ways to Care for Your Soulنموونە
Try to Be Quieter
I always love talking about things. Books? Yes. Movies? Absolutely. Family? Church? Random world questions? You bet. I even enjoy talking about the hard things.
All that talking means one thing: a lot of noise.
It's good for us to share and communicate our thoughts, feelings, and ideas. But sometimes it can be too much. We don't leave space for wondering, thinking, and imagining. With all that noise we miss the beauty of quiet, something our soul desperately needs.
"God speaks in the silence of the heart." - Mother Teresa
I want my soul to have quiet so I can hear God speak.
Jesus reminds us that His sheep hear His voice (John 10:27). But if there is always noise bombarding us, it is easy to miss the voice of God in our lives.
When you are quiet, you make space to hear God and understand how to follow Him. It is in this that our souls find peace and rest. Not a sleeping kind of rest, but a calm assuredness.
The Word tells us that there are times for us to speak, but there are also times for us to be silent. That silence is part of what brings rest to your soul when you need it most. It reminds you that you aren't in control of everything; instead, you can rest in the One who is.
Read the Bible verses today and think about how you can be quieter to make space for peace.
