Courageous Choices Part 1نموونە
GET READY
Imagine Joshua and the thousands of Israelites standing on a hillside looking out over the land they have been waiting to claim. Knowing that God had promised this land to Abraham as he passed through as a nomad ages ago. Knowing that the land extends from the river you see to the sea beyond your vision. Knowing that the land is good for growing and grazing. But also knowing that it is inhabited by hostile nations. And knowing that your parents and grandparents, in their fear, had refused to take it.
How will they possibly be able to claim their promised land? Imagine them looking at Joshua as he raises his gaze from the land to the sky. And then he turns and says, “the Lord your God is giving you this land. Let’s get ready.”
Trust the Lord. Trust the One who can do the impossible. And your first step in trust? Start gathering provisions, packing bags, and getting ready to move. Just do the next task on the list. Don’t rush ahead. Don’t let fear and nerves paralyze you. Move your feet. Move your hands. Prepare to move forward.
“Action springs not from thought, but from a readiness for responsibility” -Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Ask Yourself:
-What are the steps you need to take to be ready to move forward?
Pause to Pray: Lord, I need your guidance and your presence as I get ready to move forward…
Take a Next Step:
-Reflect on one of the decisions you’re facing. Write down some steps you need to take to get ready to move forward with that decision.
-Know someone who has faced a similar decision? Ask them to pray for you as you prepare.
