Moments for Mums: When We Make Mistakes - Part 1نموونە
The kind of admission King David makes in this Psalm about his very real sin doesn’t sit well in our culture and in my own desire to look good. I can be quick to cover up mistakes and put on a mask to convince people I have it all together. Pride rises up. That only leads to disconnection from God and others.
Healing comes when I am real before God and others. I have to be willing to admit my mistakes and how far I am from the person God created me to be. Then I can be open to his love and mercy. I can receive his gentle correction that is only for my good.
This then gives me compassion for others and their mistakes. I can forgive more easily when I recognize my own need for forgiveness. It has to start with me being vulnerable and honest.
Question

Prayer
Lord, show me areas of guilt and sin I need to bring you. Help me be real with you so I can grow closer to you and show mercy to others. Amen.
Scripture
About this Plan
We are all keenly aware that we are not perfect and mess up often. Adding parenting to this seems to make it even more apparent. These devotions remind us of the freedom Jesus bought for us and how accepting God’s mercy for ourselves helps us to show mercy to others. Moments for Mums: Encouragement for mums in the midst of the beautiful mess of parenting and life.
