Bible Belles: Becoming A Belle Of Braveryنموونە
"The Lord is my strength and my S.H.I.E.L.D."
We've talked about how bravery is a confident and strong feeling, even when you're scared, but that's only half the battle. The rest of bravery comes when you trust God and choose to love others, no matter how you yourself are being treated. It's hard, but God will help you!
Read Psalm 28:7.
When you need God to help you be brave, remember that the Lord is your strength and your shield. He will help you be strong. He will protect you and keep you safe. And when you need help feeling His protection, use the letters in the word "shield" to help you remember what bravery looks and feels like.
S Shoulders back
H Head high
I Imagine God right next to you
E Eyes forward
L Listen with an open heart
D Decide how best to show love and kindness
Activity:
Practice S.H.I.E.L.D. with your mom or dad. Stand facing each other and put your body in the right position. Then, talk through a couple of situations that might come up (at home, school, or somewhere) where it would help you to remember to use S.H.I.E.L.D. You can even practice what you would say and do together!
