OVERCOMING TEMPTATION

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13

RECITE GOD’S GOODNESS

Heavenly Father, You are my loving God, fortress, stronghold, and deliverer. You are my shield in whom I take refuge because You will crush the enemy who comes against me. I praise You alone!

EXPRESS YOUR NEEDINESS

Lord, this temptation seems too powerful for me, as if I can’t resist it much longer. Help me recognize the way of escape that You’ve prepared for me and make my feet quick to run away. Guard me against flirting with temptation or testing my resilience. Let me run in the path of Your commands, for You have set my heart free.

SEEK HIS STILLNESS

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Where has God given you a way out? Be quick to obey, run to safety, and then take a few moments to be still with God, your rescuer.

TRUST HIS FAITHFULNESS

Lord, when I cry out to You in distress, You answer me and set me free. I praise You for always being faithful to rescue me from temptation and deliver me from evil. Yours is the victory forever!
