Faith Foundations - How to Follow Jesusنموونە

We now know why God wants us to be like salt and a city on a hill. He wants our good deeds to shine for all to see so others will praise God and hopefully start to follow Him.
We know light helps people see and find their way, but what does salt do?
Salt is a type of rock and it’s the only rock we eat. There have been times in history that salt has been equal in value as gold! Salt brings out the flavor in foods, it preserves food, helps heal wounds, and our bodies need salt to live. Without salt, there would be no life.
When God tells us to be salt of the world, He’s saying we are very important. When we do the good things He’s asked us to do, then we are helping others to know God.
Let’s begin looking at what Jesus has asked us to do.
Read: Matthew 5: 43-44; Matthew 6: 3-4; Matthew 6: 9-13; Matthew 6: 14
Reflect: Based on the verses you read, what things does Jesus ask us to do?
Pray: Ask God to help you do the things listed in these Bible verses.
