Daily Bible Reading, August 2022: God’s Renewing Word of Mercy and Forgivenessنموونە
August 2
Introduction
In today’s reading, the nations are called into God’s court to hear evidence concerning who controls human events. The LORD chooses the people of Israel to be his “servant.” God’s servants are to trust only in the LORD and live according to God’s teachings (see Exodus 20:1-17; Deuteronomy 6:4-25).
Scripture Reading
Isaiah 41:1-20
Today’s Key Verse: Isaiah 41:13
“I am the LORD your God; I strengthen you and tell you, ‘Do not be afraid; I will help you.’ ”
Reflect
Reread verses 8 and 9. What had God done in the past? What does God promise to do for his “servant” Israel (verses 10-20)? In what ways does God encourage and provide for you and your community of faith to be faithful servants?
Pray
Lord God, you promise to fortify your faithful people for all challenges they face. Strengthen me this day for the challenges ahead so that I may serve you in all aspects of my life. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Isaiah 43:1-21: God promises to rescue his people.
