From Chaos to Clarityنموونە
Live With Clarity
To go from chaos to clarity, you must allow God to circumcise your heart and heal the shame of your past so that you can enter the promise of your future.
You see, God can take you out of Egypt, but He also has to take the Egypt out of you—and that process might look a little like Gilgal. You may have already crossed the Jordan. You may be ready to walk circles around Jericho, ready for the next big miracle in your life. But yet, the stench and residue of your past are still on you, keeping you from the clarity of knowing who you are in Christ.
The voice of shame is loud, and it lingers in our ears telling us what we can’t do. It tells us who we are. And in this passage, Joshua knew that before his people could enter into what God had for them, they needed to deal with the shame they were carrying around from Egypt and make a covenant with God. This permanent decision would serve as a repeated reminder of who they served and what they were about.
You may have started in Egypt. It’s where your parents grew up. It’s where your roots are, but it’s time to cast it aside and rid yourself of the unhealthy ways of the past. You cannot have the victory of Jericho until you have the circumcision of Gilgal. It’s Gilgal where you take the flint knife and you cut away the old life. You stay in that place until you’re healed; until the shame is gone.
What in your life needs to be cut away? What represents the old you, the Egypt in your life? What is keeping you from clearly seeing the future God has for you?
It’s time to name it because God will not let you leave Gilgal and move on to Jericho until you have cut it away. It might be a mindset, a sin, or a habit. Whatever it is, it is caused by shame in your life.
God is trying to circumcise your heart so He can replace it with a victory that nobody from your family who came from the previous generation has ever seen before. He has a Jericho waiting for you. He has it all set up so that you just need to show up and walk around a few times and pray and the walls will come tumbling down. But first, you need to address your shame. You need to align with Him. You need to circumcise your heart. Only then will God’s power flow and topple giants. Only then will you go from chaos to clarity.
Question: What in your life needs to be cut away? What represents the old you, the Egypt in your life? It’s time to name it and cut it away. It might be a mindset. It might be a sin. Or it might be a habit. Allow God to circumcise your heart and heal the shame of your past so you can enter the promise of your future. Remove it so God can replace it with His victory.
