The War on Wisdom

DAY 20 OF 35

The language used in Proverbs is powerfully emotive as we get an insight into the heart of the Father. Here it says, “the Lord detests dishonest scales”. Detest is a strong hatred and dishonest scales imply that a scale used to measure is purposefully rigged and unfair. This points to how God deeply cares about honesty and accuracy, delighting in fairness and being just.

Often pride can cause one to tip the scales in their favor; it becomes about “winning” at all costs. We need to make sure, as God’s chosen people, that we don’t tip the scales dishonestly.

Are we giving someone their just and fair reward for the work they do for us? Are we working towards making sure there is equality in the workforce and that the playing field is level? Where dishonest scales have hindered those around us in the past, are we working to help pull the downtrodden up? Are we willing to take a stand and make sure that the scales in life are honest and recalibrated in line with truth and humility?

About this Plan

The War on Wisdom

We are at War, a war raging since the day that man decided to choose a way other than following the Counsel of God. But God in His grace gave us the strategy we need to be victorious - His Wisdom. The 'War on Wisdom' is a 5-week reading plan through parts of the book of Proverbs. Our purpose is to help the believer reclaim the Wisdom of God.
