Reflections On Hopeنموونە
We live in a world of seemingly increasing disinformation, misinformation, deliberate misleading titles and articles, as well as fake media.
As we become flooded with all these opinions and attitudes, all purporting to be facts and a single source of ‘truth’, we can become overwhelmed, fearful of being betrayed, as well as distrusting of news and the people who share it. When we begin to lose trust in the world and the people around us, we begin to lose our hope, too.
But there is good news for those who believe in our God and His Word, which is the ultimate source of everlasting Truth, and in the One who proclaims himself to be “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6 (KJV))! Our Lord and Saviour is the beginning and the end (Revelation 22:13), knows all things (Hebrews 4:13) and has all things under His control (Isaiah 43:2- 3). His Word was given to us as a gift of enduring truth. As Isaiah states, “the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever” (Isaiah 40:8 (ESV)).
Instead of retreating in bitterness and fear from this world, let us read our Bibles with confidence, allowing the Word of God to truly be our source of hope!
May we fully rely on and restore our trust in God’s Word to show us what is true in any given situation; let it show us how we are to conduct ourselves, what we can confidently believe, and let it fill us with His love for Him and those around us, as we continue to walk with His Words as a lamp to our feet and a light for our path. May He be our hope.
