I Speak Jesusنموونە
"I just want to speak the name of Jesus
'Til every dark addiction starts to break
Declaring there is hope and there is freedom
I speak Jesus"
(lyrics from the song “I Speak Jesus” by KingsPorch)
Again, this is not a story of something Jesus just did one time in history; it’s a story of His character. It’s a story about how Jesus interacts with a man who had been in chains, broken out, and chained again. It’s a story about a man who couldn’t get rid of his tormenting demons. It’s a story about a man everyone in the city had given up on. That is, everyone except Jesus.
This is a continuation of the story immediately after Jesus had calmed the storm with his word. Yes, the disciples did go through a terrible storm, but there was a reason. The reason was that Jesus wanted to bring them to a place where they could bring freedom to someone else! Don’t miss this. There’s a good chance the storms you go through in life are to build your faith so you can experience God’s peace and presence to bring freedom to someone else!
Living with addiction is not much different from the story of Legion. Scripture tells us in Ephesians 6, “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
Behind every addiction is a spiritual force and darkness because we have an enemy who wants to keep us in chains, isolated, and living among the tombs.
Just imagine this story. Imagine this man who had zero interaction with other people, and the first face he looks into after so many years in chains is Jesus. Jesus looks into his eyes and asks him his name. This is so powerful. He cares so deeply about him and speaks to him personally. This is the Jesus we follow.
Like calming the storm, how did Jesus cast out a thousand demons from this man? All he needed was his words! Again, there is power in the Word of God. There is the power to break all the chains that bind us and hold us down. There is the power to cast out the darkness. This is why we speak Jesus. We are declaring hope and freedom found only in Him.

About this Plan
This plan is to encourage people that there is still power when we speak the name of Jesus over people. He can heal the parts of them they think are impossible. He still heals people physically. He still heals marriages. He still breaks addictions. He still frees people from anxiety and depression. There is still power in His name. Speak the name of Jesus.
