True Worship with Real Joy
Praise is the offering of a thankful heart among God's people in His faithful gathering. How good it is to know that our Sovereign Lord hears every cry for mercy and out of His tenderness, He lifts us up and sets our feet on a rock to stand.
“But you, Sovereign Lord, help me for Your name’s sake; out of the goodness of Your love, deliver me.” (Psalm 109:21)
The phrase "but You, Sovereign Lord," is a declaration, a recognition of God's absolute power and authority. Nothing, nothing slips past His hands nor escapes His sight. "The eyes of the Lord are everywhere,” (Proverbs 15:3)
He knows all and delivers all for His name's sake. This is why we are thankful, because it is God's character to love, His nature to be kind, His mercy to heal, and His faithfulness to forgive. God keeps every one of His promises!
The work of the Craftsman is to shape us and make us shine. We are not crushed. The pressing we feel is the pressure of His hands; the darkness we see is the folding of His robe around us. In this process, He is making you like diamonds.
“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;” (2 Corinthians 4:9)
He forms and fashions us to be the workmanship of Jesus, for the praise of His glory. He restores our hearts and minds so that we may act and think like the love of Christ. Because of this, we can have real joy. We are never left alone nor in despair. His life is revealed in the body - so life is at work in you.
He returns our joy as He is making us new. “I have told you this so that My joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” (John 15:11)
