The Worship Priorityنموونە
Worship Is What the Father Is Seeking
How does God find your worship? In looking at the life of David, he was not just the worship leader, but David was also the chief commander of the army (1 Chronicles 25:1). He was committed to worship as a means of national security.
David knew the importance of worship preparation to fend off spiritual distractions, temptation, fear, doubt, and worry. Have you ever considered that our prayers, songs, and spoken words are strategic weapons of war against the enemy?
David unapologetically declares the importance of focused worship:
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness. - Psalm 29:2
All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to your name. - Psalm 86:9
Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. - Psalm 95:6
Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth. - Psalm 96:9
God desires our worship to be intentional, purposeful, meaningful, and fully connected with Him. In fact, we are commanded not to worship anything or anyone other than the LORD, for He is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14).
When we put on the full armor of God through worship, we forget about ourselves and take on the identity of Christ. He is our Trust, our Defender, our Refuge; our Source for everything we need comes from His hands.
When we lay our cares at His feet, we are surrounded by the walls of His great provision. We are illuminated with the praises of God which light our path. When our comfort rests in the One who is able, we walk in the grace of His rest. This is the kind of worship the Father is seeking.
