Navigate Troubled Waters (And Overcome Fear)

DAY 1 OF 6

Do not be afraid.

Do not be afraid.

Those four words have sometimes been the hardest for me to believe. The Bible is full of times when God has assured his people using those words.

The implication is that he expects we will be afraid because this world affords so many times when fear would be the natural response. With all that happens around us and in us, it is only natural that fear threatens to become a permanent resident in our lives.

I take comfort knowing that even Jesus felt afraid. Before he is taken into custody in the garden to be later tortured and die, he brings his fears openly before his Father (Luke 22:40-44). I am grateful for Jesus’ vulnerability, showing me that fear is a natural part of our lives.

But fear doesn’t have to have power over our lives.

Come with me for the next five days and discover how God has used various metaphors and stories involving water to show us how to overcome our fears. Embark on a five-day journey to discover how God’s truths, made alive through his word, can provide stability to navigate these troubled waters.
