A Better Day

DAY 7 OF 7

Who Will You Take With You?

with Andrew Palau

There’s no doubt that life is sweeter when you’re looking forward to something. Everything feels a little brighter when there’s a vacation or special event on the calendar; and it should—God wants us to enjoy every blessing! But no matter what you’re looking forward to, never lose sight of this truth: life’s pleasures come—they make us happy for a little while, and then… they’re gone.

We have something better to look forward to—something that lasts. We can have a great measure of joy, peace, healing, and satisfaction now, in Jesus. And we have the promise of a beautiful eternity spent in the face-to-face presence of God.

We will be completely restored.
All our tears will be wiped away.
Our bodies will be new.
All our pain and suffering will be over.
We will be complete in every way.
There will be no more sin and sorrow.
We will live in the light of the Lord.
We will be reunited with those we’ve lost.
We will worship the Lord together forever!

Romans 8 says that we are groaning, along with all creation, as in childbirth. It’s a painful process waiting for the future glory we were promised. Even though we have a taste of it now through the Holy Spirit, we long for the day we will know it fully. How long do we have to wait, Lord?!

The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 3:9 that the Lord isn’t actually being slow about it. He’s being patient for our sake so that as many people as possible can be saved. It says He doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed but wants everyone to repent. God is giving us extra time for a reason. He’s giving us the opportunity to share our hope—to share Him—with as many people as we can.

Being with God in the next life is our ultimate hope. But the present time matters as well! The relationships we develop with family and friends matter. This is the time when we can choose to share the hope of God with others. Remember, you don’t need fancy words, or special training to tell people about Jesus. Just speak from the heart, and tell them what He’s done for you.

When I arrive in Heaven, I want all the people I love to be there with me. I want as many people as possible to join in that glorious, endless celebration! It will be like the best party, worshiping God together forever! Now is your chance to make sure all your people know they are invited to the party. God’s arms are open. Will you lead them in?

Let’s pray—

God, this world is so broken. As we wait eagerly for a better day to come, it’s You who sustains us. Day by day, you give us abundant life, even in the middle of life’s storms. Lord, help us to share what we have with all those who will hear it. The hope of heaven starts now, and it is contagious. We ask that by Your grace we would be able to bring many people with us into glory! Amen.

Share hope today.

We all know someone who needs the hope of a better day. We made these videos to help you start a conversation that just might change their life and their eternity! Consider sharing a message of hope with your friends today.
