Are You Filled and Skilled?
Exodus 31:1-5 says, “Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze. He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft!’”
This passage talks about how God chose Bezalel for the purpose of helping to build the tabernacle. God has a specific calling on your life as well. He has something very specific for you, a very specific assignment.
When we come to God, it’s not only about bringing our agendas to God but about asking God what His agenda is for us.
He has a very specific assignment for you. It may not be creating items for a tabernacle. But I think this is a great example of how God has a specific calling on your life.
The passage from Exodus 31 says, “I have filled him (Bezalel) with the Spirit of God.”
Let’s be filled with the Spirit of God when we’re writing. I know I don’t want to be writing in my own strength.
I’m not perfect and I’m sure that I have written books out of sheer willpower. Thankfully God has healed me and set me free from an addiction to work. I am a redeemed workaholic. He constantly reminds me that it is essential to be filled with the Spirit and die to my flesh.
Exodus 31:3 says, “I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts.” So, ask the Lord to fill you with His Spirit so that you can have wisdom, ability, and expertise in the writing that He has called you to do.
There are people that your books will reach that my books will never reach. There are people right now waiting for your book. They are waiting for the message you’re going to share in your book.
Have you ever been in a play, band, or a choir, and you’re getting ready to do a performance and peek out from behind the curtain? I did that all the time in plays and musicals growing up. When you peek from behind the curtain and you see a full room with standing room only, it’s so exciting! It gives you that burst of adrenaline and energy.
I believe God has an auditorium filled with an audience who is waiting for what you have to share in your book.
Ask God to fill you with His Spirit so that you have the wisdom to know what to write, what to edit, what to get rid of, what to keep, etc.
Are you operating out of your own strength or are you filled with the Spirit?
Prayer: "Father, I ask that You fill me with Your Spirit so that I can have wisdom, ability, and expertise in the writing that You have called me to do. In the powerful name of Jesus, Amen."

About this Plan
Kingdom writers, let the words flow as you allow God to write through you. You are priestly pens in the hands of the Author of life. Writing a book is not for everyone. For you, writing is your calling. You feel compelled by God to write. God wants to use your words to impact lives for eternity. It's time to write words that outlive you. Will you say yes?
