The Weapons We Fight With
The world around us is broken and we are in a spiritual where we experience spiritual attack in different seasons of our lives. When you recognise that you are at war with the enemy, victory is possible. To prepare for any kind of battle we must ensure we must protect ourselves.
How do you do that? We find out in Ephesians 6:10–18 how to put on the whole armour of God.
First, the belt of truth: being honest is vital to fighting spiritual battles. Second, the breastplate of righteousness: doing what is right helps guard against giving the enemy access to get a foothold. Third, the feet are covered with the preparation of the Gospel of peace: which gives us reason to be ready for action. Fourth, the shield of faith: it reminds us that whilst we are under attack, to trust in God during the battle. Fifth, the helmet of salvation: it reminds us to protect our minds by taking confidence in the salvation that protects us now and waits for us in heaven. Sixth, the sword of the Spirit is the Word of God: it’s designed to defeat the enemy. When Satan comes against you, combat his lies with what God says. Seventh, praying always, on every occasion and for one another: it’s impossible to be victorious when you’re wrapped up in yourself.
The only way to win the battle is to go through fully armed.
We can win the battle, and the enemy can be defeated—not by our strength but by the Spirit of God in His time and in His ways.

About this Plan
Many times it’s easy for us to see things from our human perspective and not see the spiritual battle that rages around us. In this reading plan, we talk about how we can prepare and fight in the battle for lives and eternity so that when the fight comes to our door, we are ready!
