Humility: Your Power Tool of Loveنموونە
Practice Your Power of Humility
Your mission should be to develop a nature of humility. To do this, you need both instruction and training, which means you must practice what you have learned. Mere instruction is not enough to develop your senses in humility, your power tool of love. James 1:22 AMPC includes that you must also, “be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it.” According to 1 Peter 1:22, obeying the Truth of the Word is supremely important because that’s how God purifies your heart to love others unconditionally.
My wife and I have been choir and worship leaders for over three decades, but my foundation in music came as a teenager when I obeyed my music instructor by doing three things, “Practice, Practice, Practice!” This simple wisdom was figuratively like solid food that became a part of my nature that brought success in other aspects of life. Much more is the Word of God (the Bible) like solid food when you practice hearing and obeying. According to Hebrews 5:14 AMPC, the solid food of the Word teaches you to distinguish between good and evil through practice.
Jesus wants you to be “like a city” that He “sets on a hill and cannot be hidden.” According to James 4:10 AMPC, the practice of humility is your path to the promotion in which God exalts you and makes your life significant. Always practice humility. It will serve as the daily power tool that transforms you into a refuge of love that impacts the lives of everyone who becomes acquainted with you.
