SoulSister: Galatians 2:20 [A Study On Identity]نموونە
LOVE IDENTIFIES US
Love is how we identify who we are; through Christ who loved us and gave Himself up for us. He loved you, He loved me, HE LOVES US. That's why He did it. And what did He do? He gave Himself up for us. How sad it is when Christ sees a believer not living in the finished work that He died for because we question our identity in Him. He loved us so much that He paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we can live in the promises of God. “But the Scripture has imprisoned everyone [everything—the entire world] under sin, so that [the inheritance, the blessing of salvation] which was promised through faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe [in Him and acknowledge Him as God’s precious Son]” Galatians 3:22 AMP.
Love is the power and the activating force that moved, and is moving us into this confidence we have in our identity in Christ and our faith walk all together. Galatians 5:6 AMP states “For [if we are] in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but only faith activated and expressed and working through love.” We can’t confidently and fully embrace our identity in Christ until we have embraced that God loves us. His love draws us to faith, and our faith is activated by His love. Now we can express our faith and work through this love. This love is what identified us. What a beautiful thing! “By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another” (John 13:35 AMP.)
So, let me say it right here and right now that God loves us! Now let’s walk confidently in that and let His love identity us.
About this Plan
Where we came from or what we used to be does not define our identity. Our identity is not in our past; our identity is in Christ. In this SoulSister devotional with TiaMarie Arnold, we're going to study Galatians 2:20 everyday with other supporting scriptures, so that when we face identity challenges in our day-to-day walk, it will be the scripture that flows from within us.
