Guardians Of Ancora Bible Plan: How To Talk With Godنموونە
OOPS!
We’ve done it again! We were trying so hard, but we let our feelings get the better of us and we snapped, lost our temper, or said something rude. And as for that person who hurt us, we can’t stop those negative thoughts about them crowding into our mind. We feel like ignoring them next time we meet…
All those things we think, say and do that we wish we hadn’t thought, said or done... Forgiven. Sorted. Gone. By God, through Jesus. They have been dealt with. All we have to do is be sorry. Really sorry. If we ask God to forgive us, he will. Over and over again.
In the prayer Jesus taught his disciples, he gives us the opportunity to do that every time in the words, ‘Forgive us…’ Let’s ask God to help us take that for real, not for granted. Over and over again.
But what about when we need to forgive other people? Ah. That’s not so easy! But it’s what we are told to do. By Jesus, who died for us, but also for people who hurt us. Let’s ask God for his love for them, so that we can forgive, just as we have been forgiven. Over and over again.
TALKABOUT
If everyone really prayed and lived the prayer that Jesus taught his followers, what difference do you think it would make?
TALKING WITH GOD TOGETHER
Is God saying something to you today, in the words of Jesus’ prayer?
PLAYING GUARDIANS OF ANCORA
Switch on your game device, go to the Spire and select the Bible Quest: ‘How to Talk with God’ (tap the ‘game-controller’ icon). You might like to replay, to make sure you have achieved all the ‘stars’ in each chapter. Did you light the Spire?
Go to the Creative Hub (‘spiral book’ button, at the bottom-left of your screen) to make and share responses to Bible stories and to God. It’s a great place to talk with God in your own way.
Here, you can write down your words or you can draw a picture which shows how you’re feeling. Choose stickers to add to your posts – or create a whole picture, just using stickers. Use your device to take a photo and turn that into a prayer.
Save your pictures on your device to start your own ‘prayer journal.’
