Keep Goingنموونە
Jesus holds nothing back.
In fact, we read Jesus specifically telling His disciples that the purpose of this parable is to encourage us to regular and continuous prayer. He then closes with a question, “Will there be any faith left on the Earth?” He isn’t trying to scare us but gently convict us. He already knows the answer. Jesus wants to know if we will make an effort to seek Him. If it matters to us as it matters to Him.
Do we think we need God as much as the persistent woman needed the judge?
It comes down to this: If we do not pray, we will give up.
Prayer is more than just a practice or discipline. For followers of Christ, prayer is a way of life. It is the means to endure even to the end of time. Prayer allows us to see who God is and who He can be. In turn, we’re able to profess our faith more boldly. We’re able to act more courageously.
Prayer changes us from the inside out. But, more than anything — prayer transforms our posture. It keeps our eyes up and our gaze fixed on Christ. It keeps us moving forward.
CONSIDER THIS —
- Why do you think Jesus is so adamant about prayer?
- What does your prayer life look and feel like?
- How can you adjust your posture to be more aligned with God?
