A Heart of Thanksgivingنموونە
Indescribable
Have you ever been given a present that was underwhelming? Perhaps you were given something that was ugly, impractical, or just didn’t fit your decor? You didn’t want to offend the person who gave it to you, so you stored it away in a cupboard and dusted it off only when they came to visit. My wife and I have a particularly ugly resin monk wine bottle holder. He sits on a shelf out of sight, usually making an appearance only when we move house. He brings back memories of when we were first married. Even though I find him rather tacky, I have a soft spot for him, and I can’t bear the thought of throwing him out.
It’s the thought that counts, after all. And that’s the important part. Being thankful not just for the time and effort but for the heart of the person who gave us the gift. And then someone gives you a gift that is perfect. It’s exactly what you wanted, when you wanted it, and needed it. Every time you look at it, and think about it, you are so thankful to the person who gave it to you.
The gift that Jesus has given us is the perfect gift. Jesus has given us everything. The gift of His life, of salvation, is ‘indescribable’. How can I not look to Him as the gift giver with deepest thankfulness, with utmost gratitude? How can I not lift my hands and praise Him for His grace and steadfast love?
Lord, in those moments when I want to complain, I know I can look to you, the one who gave everything. Thank you for helping me keep a truly thankful heart.

About this Plan
This year has again been challenging. Not only for the world but I think most people would say that they have certainly faced extra challenges this year. As we head into this holiday season, this season of celebration and remembrance of salvation, we wanted to spend time in thanksgiving. Thanksgiving for immense blessings, love, grace, mercy and the salvation we have received through our Lord Jesus Christ.
